St. Edward Rugby Clambake Update via Tom Kueller

Posted on September 25th, 2007 in Clambake, Fundraising by DJLitten

Please be aware that we have outlined several different options for you on this important day, this important fundraiser for Eagle Rugby!  We have the following times of interests:

4:00 PM: Cornhole Tournament with snacks, soup, broth, etc.

5:00 PM:  Mass, not mandatory for the Eagle Rugby Clambake festivities through Eagle Rugby, but a “public Catholic service announcement.”  It is mandatory during one of those days during the weekend.  Coach Fox needs all the prayers he can get!  I developed an intention for the weekend.

7:00 PM: Dinner

The attached flyer for the Eagle Rugby Clambake is below.  A special thank you goes out to Michelle Asp for developing the flyer and providing the last minute details.  You will notice that there is a SPECIAL 50/50 Raffle for the Gary Minerd Family.  The tickets are $5.00 each.  Gary Minerd suddenly died in April of 2006 leaving behind his loving wife Kate, and four children ranging in age from 14 to 8.  Gary was a graduate of St. Edward High School in 1983.  The Minerd Family needs your help once again for 2007.  Let us try to sell all these 50/50 Raffle Tickets for the Minerd Family before October 27!

The subject of checks, tickets, the 50/50 will be handled as follows:

CLAMBAKE: Please make out your checks for the Clambake to “St. Edward High School” and mail your check to me at 721 Derby Way, Avon Lake, 44012.  The cost of the Clambake is $40.00 per ticket.  Please write in the memo section of your check the number of bakes.  I will gather all monies and your ticket for the Clambake will be waiting for you once you check in on October 27, 2007.  THERE WILL BE NO PRE MAILING OF CLAMBAKE TICKETS BEFORE OCTOBER 27!  Throughout the course of the month of October, I will email everyone an update on the checks recieved, including your check number, dollar amount, and number of tickets needed along with your corresponding Clambake Ticket Number.

The 50/50 Raffle for The Gary Minerd Family: The cost of the 50/50 Raffle is $5.00 a ticket.  Checks should be made payable for the 50/50 Raffle to me, “Tom Kueller” and write in the memo section of your check “50/50″ Raffle and please mail that check to 721 Derby Way, Avon Lake, 44012.

We have two events, one that benefits Eagle Rugby, and the other for The Minerd Family which calls for two ways for you to write your checks. I realize it might be a big pain, but the separation of the two events helps me when I present the accounting report to St. Edward High School.  Thanks in advance for your cooperation!

PLEASE WRITE TWO CHECKS IF YOU WANT THE CLAMBAKE AND 50/50 RAFFLE TICKETS.

Any questions, please call me at 440 823 5244.

Regards,

Tom Kueller

Clambake Update from Michelle Asp

Posted on September 9th, 2007 in Fundraising by DJLitten

Each year at the Rugby Clambake we hold a Chinese Raffle to help support our fundraising efforts. With the clambake data quickly approaching, we need to collect donation items for the raffle. We would like to get one item from each family. That will ensure a great variety of items and success of the raffle!

The item can be anything! If you would prefer, you can also donate a gift card to any local business; we will package up items to make great prizes.

I would like to have all items in by October 19. You can contact me (440-243-6518) to arrange drop off/pick up of items, or you can get them to Jason Fox if that is easier for you

Thank you in advance for your cooperation! If you have any questions please contact me at 440-243-6518.

Dates of Importance

As we move forward this offseason, we thought it was a good idea keep in mind a few tentative dates that should be on everyone’s rugby calendar (in pencil of course).

October 27, 2007 - Clambake at OLA

March 21-30, 2008 - Easter Break

May 9, 2008 - St. Edward Prom

May 17-18, 2008 - Ohio High School Rugby State Championships

May 24-25, 2008 - USA Rugby High School National Championships

As always, these dates and locations are tentative.  In addition, we hope to have our league schedule completed in November.
